I use Virgin Mobile and really like it. I pay SO much LESS than most people I know who have contracts and plans. However, I don't use it as much as most people, maybe a few mins a day.

You can get ringtones with them, but you have to buy them from their website virginmobileusa.com. However, they have a pretty good selection.

I hope that helps you a little.

If you are looking for free ringtones and games then Cellware is the place to be.

I have a Sony Ericsson K850. Most Sony Ericssons come with a data cable and software free of charge that allows me to download ringtones, themes, wallpapers to my computer and then transfer them to my phone for free.

Make sure the phone isn't drm protected (some branded phones are, i know vodaphone went through a stage of doing this).

My advice, go to a shop and look for phones that support mp3s, ask them if the phone comes with a data cable and software, then ask them if it does really support mp3s transferring using this cable. I know Sony Ericsson models are quite good for this, nokia i also think are ok. Motorola, Samsung and the smaller companies are a struggle to get content without using wap though so be careful.

Your other option is to get a package with free wap usage.
